Seven plans new Saudi entertainment destination

Saudi Entertainment Ventures, part of the country’s public investment fund, has announced the construction of a new SAR 1.1 billion ($293 million) entertainment destination near the Saudi city of Yanbu.

Located on Al Nawras Island’s Red Sea Promenade, the venue spans over 36,000 square meters and is designed to play a central role in the city’s local entertainment industry.

It will offer a range of attractions, including carnival rides, a 10-screen cinema, bowling, indoor golf and a climbing centre.

The site’s architecture will draw inspiration from the city’s heritage as a historic port, with a water-themed design, with beach and marine elements.

Abdullah Al-Dawood, chairman of Seven, said: “Our entertainment destination in Yanbu will provide residents and visitors with a range of exciting new experiences, while supporting the rapid development of the city and the development of the entertainment industry.

“Seven entertainment destination is inspired by Yanbu’s beautiful natural seaside landscape and reflects the city’s rich history as one of the oldest ports in the kingdom. Seven Yanbu will offer something for everyone.”

The contract for the construction of the site was awarded to Al Bawani and UCC Saudi Arabia. Fakher Al Shawaf, Chairman and CEO of Al Bawani Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Seven to realize this project. The design takes into account Yanbu’s coastal location and its history as one of Saudi Arabia’s oldest ports.

“Seven’s investment will help Yanbu’s growing population meet their entertainment needs. Al Bawani is well positioned to create this unique destination and meet the growing aspirations of Saudis.”
